Internal Medicine Home

Arizona Veterinary Internal Medicine is a specialty practice dedicated to providing your pet with the highest quality of internal medicine and cardiology services available. Just as your family physician might refer you to a specialist for a particular problem, your family veterinarian may refer you and your pet to a veterinary specialist. The specialty of small animal internal medicine is broad in scope and focuses on the treatment of numerous organ systems. In human medicine, these same areas would be treated by a wide array of subspecialists, including gastroenterologists, endocrinologists, cardiologists, and hematologists. Arizona Veterinary Internal Medicine offers advanced diagnostic and therapeutic options for many body systems, including:

  • Respiratory: rhinoscopy, bronchoscopy, bronchoalveolar lavage (B.A.L.), tracheal washing
  • Hematology: blood transfusion therapy, bone marrow aspiration
  • Endocrinology: diagnostic testing and treatment of diabetes mellitus, Cushing’s disease, thyroid disorders
  • Gastroenterology: endoscopic retrieval of foreign bodies, gastroduodenoscopy, colonoscopy, P.E.G. tube placement
  • Cardiovascular system: echocardiograms, electrocardiograms (ECGs), blood pressure evaluations, chest radiographs, pericardiocentesis, cardiology breeding certification, Holter monitoring, and Event monitoring
  • PDA Coil embolization, balloon valvuloplasty, pacemaker implantation, invasive pressure measurements, angiography
The mission of Arizona Veterinary Internal Medicine
is to provide the highest quality of
internal medicine and cardiology services
to our patients and the people who love them.
